From exploring avant garde soundscapes, through alternative rap, to collaboration with alt-pop artists and releasing electronic club material - 2K88 is constantly checking different paths and trying to break boundaries. Under this alias is music producer, DJ, composer and visual artist Przemysław Jankowiak. He began his career by releasing experimental music under underground labels and playing numerous tours with the noise-rock band Kristen, with whom he also worked as a producer.

2K88 will play his latest album SHAME, invoking the era and spirit of PL SOUND; a local genre inspired by British soundsystem music but infused with the social, urban, and sonic themes that developed during Poland’s post-communist transformation. SHAME is a progressive, bass-fueled transmission built from scraps of hip-hop’s past; it’s a cinematic vision of Y2K Polish rap that’s in constant flux, where every detail is just as important as the whole structure.

About the artist

Przemysław Jankowiak (2K88) is an artist from Poland, previously known as 1988. He composes film music, is a member of the Raiza Soundsystem crew and co-founder of the experimental trio HORRID. In 2023 Jankowiak was awarded Paszport Polityki in the Popular Music category and received a Fryderyk for Monika Brodka's album Sadza - both are one of the biggest distinctions in the Polish music industry.

Currently, 2K88 is co-creating the STRATA project alongside renowned figures in Polish rap - Kosi (JWP, Jetlagz) and Hades (HiFi Banda). STRATA is a limitless project, blending genres, experiments, and rap tradition into one. Brimming with passion, a timeless style, plenty of bass, and above all, a strong, dense atmosphere - that's how their album "SUBARU" can be described.
