Acidic Male presents Flesh Reversal (Live | album premiere)

Raw, industrial soundtracks symbolizing a rebirth through ritual—Flesh Reversal marks Acidic Male’s rise from rot, driven by tears and agony into enlightenment. Finding joy in reclaiming sexuality through not only Acidic Male’s voice which grieves and avenges, but through an embodiment of a growing flesh-like fantasy character that lures the listener with its singing and noise. Flesh Reversal is about putting an end to shame and celebrating growth, even through the darkest of times. During FIBER Festival, Acidic Male will debut her new album for the audience at Garage Noord.

Acidic Male was always fascinated with Abjection, how attraction and disgust have a common ground, as often exposed within horror films and pornography. When working on sound design for Courtney May Robertson’s prized performance ‘HUNTER’, the two found overlap in interests, as Robertson was making a piece with a love doll identically cloned to herself that analyzed horror. Some of the tracks within this album are a result from the sound design: it inspired Acidic Male deeply and profoundly to continue to make work that is close to the heart: to stay true to oneself, to be intimate and confessional.

About the artist

Puck Schot is an interdisciplinary artist. In her work her personal, diary-like poetry often serves to be the core element to everything. Subjects are often self-image and transformation of it, sexuality, revenge, shame and abjection. Under her alias 'Acidic Male' she produces tracks and performs live, combining sounds, noise and poetry. Fascinated by different genres of electronic music, she hopes to bring a reflective yet confronting space to the listener within the duality of the harsh sounds and the confessional texts about the body that she uses.
