A sonic force to be reckoned with, Slikback is a producer, DJ and live performer who has gained international prominence through his ongoing interdisciplinary musical output and collaborations. The speed at which he creates tracks, the originality and intensity of his releases show an artist at the forefront of today's global experimental musical landscape. Slikback is extending the hardcore continuum into the future, while surfing the wild zeitgeist of an algorithmic, hyper-connected but collapsing reality.

About the artist
Born in Nairobi, Kenya, Slickback started blending a wide array of electronic music; noise, techno, bass, footwork, trap, all influenced by emerging underground African club styles. While doing this, blowing minds of anyone who was stuck in a Western-framed idea of (electronic) music from Kenya and surrounding African sonic cultures. Unbound by any specific thing, he’s also inspired by various production techniques and new approaches to sound design, like converting images to sounds amidst the 2020 pandemic lockdowns. In addition to his own releases, he works with the likes of KMRU, Objekt, Shapednoise and Hyph11E and is currently releasing and touring the collaborative project AKA HEX with Aïsha Devi.
