Maurice Jones, a curator, producer, and critical AI researcher based in Tiohtià:ke/Montréal, Canada. As a Concordia University PhD candidate, he investigates cross-cultural perceptions of AI, public participation in technology governance, and festivals as temporary utopias. He’s the co-curator of the MUTEK Forum and leads Future Festivals think tank.
About the speaker
Maurice produces audiovisual works including the Iwakura full-dome performance together with visual artist Ali M. Demirel and ambient musician Kazuya Nagaya and the AI-driven, the embedded ML installation feral.ai and the collective research-creation project Wilding AI. Maurice presented his work at CTM Festival, transmediale, ISEA, the Society for Arts and Technology, the Miraikan – Museum for Emerging Science and Innovation, the Coreana Museum of Art, and the MUTEK editions in Montreal, Tokyo, and Mexico City.
