Thurs May 29 | Contactweg (Amsterdam)

Pia Baltazar is an intermedia composer, indisciplinary researcher and directress of research-creation at the Society for Arts and Technology, Montreal (Quebec, Canada). With formal training in engineering, art philosophy and musical composition, her artistic and technological research approach has been developing at the intersection of interactive design and artistic production for over twenty years.

About the speaker

Her artistic research interests focus more generally on the creative possibilities of encounters between the senses (vision, hearing, touch...) and on the involvement of physicality and spatiality in the creative process. Through all this, she is interested in liminal states of perception and consciousness, and how these generate specific modes of temporality and relationality.
